Challenge 1,2,3,4.......drawing to a close.....

Hi there
I just wanted to remind you the the current Challenge will finish on 31 March, so if you are contemplating sending in your submission you only have a few days to do so. Here is a reminder of the criteria for the Challenge:-

1 border/edge/corner punch feature;

2 different embellishments being chipboard (not lettering) and pearls;

3
photos - any size;

4 different pieces of cardstock and patterned paper, with one of them being a circle and one of the pieces is to be edge distressed.

I hope to receive your layout soon; we have some great submissions so far and I can't wait to show them to you all.

TTFN, Ann :-)

Capturing life....

Hello
Kirsty has sent in her layout showing a style that seems to be emerging with the craft of late - lots of "white space" as they call it, but a beautiful simple layout. I love the photo size; you can fit so many more photos on a page if you use 3" x 2" photos; and you can still see the detail.... the bottom photo shows the journalling tag in detail that is hidden behind the top photo....very clever!

Thanks Kirsty .....what do you think of this style? Is it a style you would like to try? I'd love to see what you come up with so feel free to send in your layout(s) soon.

Take care, Ann :-)

Scrapbooking Retreat in S.E. Queensland.....

Hi Everyone

For those of you who live in S.E. Queensland (or if you don't mind a little bit of travelling if from intrastate/interstate), I just wanted to let you know that we still have spaces available at our Retreat in the gorgeous little town of Kilcoy, just over an hour from Brisbane. The Retreat is being held from 29 April to 2 May and incorporates the Labour Day long weekend - both 2 & 3 day packages are available, and if you live locally we can cater for non-accommodation participants as well. Just email us for pricing.

So if you are interested in coming along for an awesome weekend of scrapping and an inspirational class taught by the effervescent Michelle Jamieson, then email us on info@queenslandscrapbookingretreats.com.au, or view the website for more info http://www.qldscrapbookingretreats.com.au/.

Go on, you know you want to!! :-)

I don't know about you, but I would just love to get half the number of pages done in a month - need to get some serious scrapping done - hopefully I will get that opportunity at our upcoming Retreat at the end of April at Kilcoy (S.E. Queensland). If anyone is interested in coming along, let me know and I will steer you in the right direction.

Take care for now, Ann :-)

Back to Nature.....

Hello everyone

We have received entries for the current Challenge 1,2,3,4 already and they look fantastic.... I can't wait to receive YOUR entry soon.

In the meantime, Dale has sent in a layout she did using Kaisercraft products. 4 photos on the page...simple embellishments... that tell the story of spending some special bonding time with her son doing a photography shoot.

What a special page!

Remember to check out the Challenge 1,2,3,4 below for the layout requirements for this months challenge and send in your page before the end of the month. Can't wait to see them.

Ok.... here we go with Challenge 1,2,3,4

Alright everyone....here is the next Challenge for you all....I wanted to do something a bit different to a sketch challenge to keep things interesting.

This is called Challenge 1,2,3,4 and it works as follows. You are to create a layout using:-

1 border/edge/corner punch feature;

2 different embellishments being chipboard (not lettering) and pearls;

3
photos - any size;

4 different pieces of cardstock and patterned paper, with one of them being a circle and one of the pieces is to be edge distressed.

This is the minimum requirements for your layout - you can certainly add more to make the page your own.

So what do you think? Challenging enough? I think we are going to see some awesome layouts!
You have until 31 March to send in your layout, and then we will take votes for a week and announce the winner a week later. So it's game on....put your thinking caps on let's get creating and have some fun.

Please send your layouts to mealin@optusnet.com.au.
I can't wait to see your submissions...........ok...ready...set....go!

Have a great week, Ann :-)

The new challenge is coming.....

Hello everyone

I would like to let you all know that the new challenge will be posted tonight. I thought we would do something a little different with this new challenge.....instead of providing a sketch, I'm going to make you all think a little bit this time!

The challenge is going to be called CHALLENGE 1,2,3,4. Have I got you all wondering yet? The numbers will determine the amount of paper and embellishments to use on the page.

As usual the winning submission will earn themselves a nice little prize pack, including a voucher to spend at ScrapbookingnCraft.

So stay tuned - in about 12 hours or so, the instructions will be up for the Challenge - are you up for it? I hope so! I am really looking forward to receiving your submissions for this one.

Take care, Ann :-)

My Granddaughters....

Hello
Regina has sent in a mini album that she has done of her grand-daughters. The under-side of this album page is actually the front of the album, but this page concertina's out so that she has been able to fit more photos on the "page".

Submitted by Regina Chandler
Queensland, Australia

She has done a lot of work cutting out lots of elements from the Kaisercraft Hey Birdie collection - something a little different to what we usually pop on the blog. This is a great technique to get more photos on a page. I would love to see some other OTP projects that some of you may have, so please send them in for us to share.

Take care, Ann :-)
